Tran Duy, painter in vogue

Tran Duy (1920-2014) was a renowned Vietnamese artist.

He trained at the École des Beaux-Arts d'Indochine, founded by Victor Tardieu.

He was inspired by traditional Vietnamese painting techniques, notably ink on silk, while also taking in the artistic advances taking place in Vietnam and particularly at the Beaux-Arts.

His paintings created for the preparatory class are still circulating on the art market.
