The artist's style and technique

Pascal Dagan-Bouveret was a pupil of Gérôme, using the same pictorial processes that still belong to the Académie. He was part of the naturalist movement and produced mainly oils on canvas, in fairly dark shades. He painted genre scenes and portraits.

Pascal Dagnan-Bouveret was born in 1852 in Paris.

Pascal Adolphe Jean Dagnan-Bouveret was a French naturalist painter born on January 7, 1852 in Paris and died on July 3, 1929 in Quincey, Haute-Saône. He studied at the Beaux-Arts de Paris in Alexandre Cabanel's studio, then with Jean-Léon Gérôme. He is known for his naturalistic works and portraits, often characterized by their precision and realistic treatment. Dagnan-Bouveret was influenced by the realist movement and also explored religious themes in some of his works. His work is appreciated for its technical mastery and ability to capture everyday life in great detail. He exhibited at the Salon des artistes Français and at the World's Fairs of 1889 and 1900.
