Artist's rating and value
During the 20th century, Hubert Le Gall established himself as one of the most talented cabinetmakers of his era. Since then, his value has continued to rise. As a result, he has become a firm fixture on the international art market. Highly prized by collectors, his commodes and tables are the most popular on the market, particularly the rare Anthémis models and the Marguerite 10 fleurs tables. As a result, a piece of Le Gall furniture can fetch millions of euros at auction, as evidenced by his Anthémis rouge et or, a wooden chest of drawers fetching €87,000 at Christie's in 2019.

Hubert Le Gall, from finance to contemporary furniture
Hubert le Gall was born in Lyon in 1961. He studied economics and finance, but soon turned to art. His first works were paintings, few of which can be found on the auction market today.
He mainly produces furniture with a very poetic but also vegetal inspiration, drawing much of his inspiration from flower motifs and playing on the simplicity and curvature of forms.
Hubert le Gall works and designs his pieces in a studio in Montmartre, formerly that of the painter Bonnard. There, he notably created the dining room for Paris City Hall. His work has been exhibited by the Avant-Scène gallery, as well as the Magenta gallery in Milan. Museums such as La Piscine in Roubaix and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts have acquired some of his works for display in their permanent collections. He has also been one of the contemporary artists asked to decorate churches, along with Keith Haring and the triptych for Saint Eustache Church : in 2020, he created a reliquary for Chartres Cathedral.
Also a scenographer, he was notably involved in the Fragonard exhibition at the Musée Jacquemart André and the Mélancolie at the Grand Palais.
The artist's creations and style
Hubert Le Gall creates contemporary furniture and sculptures, and is not associated with any particular movement. He works with a variety of materials including glass, ceramics, wood and resin, but his material of choice remains bronze, which he uses in particular for his Table aux 10 marguerites.
