Albert Cheuret (1884-1966) was a 20th-century French sculptor and decorator.
Born in Paris, he was trained in sculpture by Georges Lemaire and Jacques Perrin. He soon set up his own design studio and won first prize in the Sculpture Ornementale competition, which brought him a large number of commissions. Like Barye, he placed great importance on animals in his work, particularly birds, whose iconography he multiplied in his decorations and ornamental sculptures. After the discovery of Tutankhamen's sarcophagus, he gradually added orientalizing elements to his work. He was exhibited many times in Paris, and his work evolved into a hybrid mix of currents, borrowing some elements from Art Deco.
