The artist's career and the world of Josette Hébert-Coëffin       

Josette Hébert-Coëffin (1907 - 1973) was an artist born in Rouen.


She trained in sculpture at the Beaux-Arts in her hometown, in Alphonse Guilloux's studio. She received numerous awards from various institutions, which enabled her to collaborate with the manufacturenationale de Sèvres. Unfortunately, some of her works were destroyed during the bombardments of March 1942.

Her reputation grew after the war, with the artist receiving public commissions, including one from President Auriol.

In parallel, Josette Hébert-Coëffin became interested in engraving. For many years, she created medals for the Monnaie de Paris  among others, she was responsible for the 1968 Winter Olympics medal and the Jean Cocteau medal.

Josette Hébert-Coëffin made a significant contribution to art and culture, although she is not widely known to the general public.
