Jean Chrysotshome Stumpff (1731-1806), was a Swabian-born cabinetmaker from Schweigern, Germany. He was originally from Schweigern, Germany.
He obtained his master's degree in 1766, and opened a store on rue Saint Nicolas, as a free or privileged cabinetmaker.
The cabinetmaker used the techniques of rosewood veneer and lacquer from the Far East. He produced trompe-l'œil marquetry using a system of latticework, often inspired by an antique repertoire.
He rubbed shoulders with and probably worked with Queen Marie-Antoinette's cabinetmaker, Ferdinand Schwerdfeger.
