An important member of the Paris School, Michel Adlen quickly established himself on the art market. Today, the artist's presence on the market is limited, but his works sell for relatively high prices, between €50 and €15,000 - a substantial delta, but one that speaks volumes about the value that can be attributed to these works. The artist's works and style
With a very modern style, Michel Adlen's painting is influenced by cubism and impressionism. However, as he strives to develop his own style, the artist's compositions are more detailed and emotionally rich. Michel Adlen draws his inspiration from Polish culture, particularly music and literature.
In addition to painting, Michel Adlen produced many watercolors and drawings. The artist depicted landscapes, portraits and still lifes.
The life of Michel Adlen
Michel Adlen was born in 1898 in the Ukraine. From 1915, the young boy attended painting classes in Vienna before exhibiting and taking part in graphic art shows in Berlin.

He obtained French nationality in 1929 and took part in the visual revolution of the École de Paris. Influenced by the 1900-1910 decade, he drew inspiration from his contemporaries to propose innovative painting.
As soon as he arrived in Paris, Michel Adlen was inspired by Cubist art. His wife Jeanne becomes his muse. He paints still lifes, portraits of women and urban scenes. Adlen is also an illustrator for newspapers and books.
