Model 1857 dragon rifle. Rear lock made by the Mutzig imperial factory. Barrel with flats then round with thunderbolt hallmark. Breechblock marked "Ml 18.5". Walnut stock, all brass fittings, iron counterplate. Weak but functional mechanism, crushed chimney, oxidation and cleaning. Overall length: 144 cm. France, Third Republic period.
