Bound in full contemporary marbled calf, 5-ribbed spine, red morocco title page, arms stamped on tail. Ex-libris François Michel de Léon, famous for his ownership of Callot's complete works. This handwritten catalog is explicitly cited by Émile Perrier in his work on Provençal bibliophiles and collectors as one of the books composed by the author in his spare time, which have unfortunately remained unpublished. "A passionate bibliophile as well as one of the most distinguished art lovers. His library, already composed in 1780 of some 1,800 works, embraced all human knowledge. Bindings in red, blue, green and lemon morocco, with rich gilding, abounded. But what gave this collection a special interest was the considerable number of handwritten or printed works relating to the history of Provence, classified with great method, and extending right up to the nefarious years of the Terror. What he could not possess in the original, MICHEL de LÉON had copied; in this way, he was able to build up a collection of documents of all kinds that included no less than 200 volumes." PERRIER (Émile).Les Bibliophiles et les Collectionneurs Provençaux. Marseille, Barthelet, 1897. Pages 354-362. Expert : Nicolas Asvisio
